Airfield guide --> Poland
Wroclaw-Strachowice (EPWR)
Copernicus Airport Wroclaw, situated in the western part of Poland, is an airport
with one runway, which is almost east-west. At the north
side there
are two aprons, of which one is visible from behind the fence. At the
south side of the airport, there used to be operational MiG 21’s…
Wroclaw now-
adays has a military part at the north side. A couple of Sokols are
based here.
Photographing isn’t easy from the
outside. Near the platform you’re facing the sun almost the whole day. Taking
photos in the approach (east side), is
not great as well, because
the planes are rather high. Left of the terminal there’s a parking lot with a
good overview on the apron. With some difficulty
you can
photograph between the fences (no steps needed). Inside the terminal there’s a
kind of roofed spectators terrace. OK for writing numbers, not
so good
for photographing because of the glass, which is rather clean by the way.
